Theresa flavin is a proud mum of 6, and lives with younger onset dementia. Theresa is a strong advocate for the dignity and human rights of people living with dementia, with special interest in supported decision making and de institutionalisation. Theresa regularly writes journal articles and formal submissions advocating for equality of people living with dementia across the globe. Theresa attended the United Nations open ended working group on ageing in New York in 2023, where she provided the first ever direct address to the UN by a person living with dementia.
