We are thrilled to announce that Dave Carpenter, a member of the DAI board, has been selected as one of the winners of this year’s Global Ability Photography Challenge. This competition, in its third year, celebrates the creativity and vision of photographers living with disabilities, and Dave’s work stood out among hundreds of inspiring entries.

Dave’s winning photograph, titled Congruence, is part of a series he captured at the Toronto Reference Library. The image masterfully weaves light, lines, and perspective, offering viewers a moment of harmony and reflection.

For Dave, photography is more than an art form—it’s a way to connect, express, and inspire. Living with young-onset dementia, Dave continues to use his lens to challenge perceptions and celebrate beauty in the everyday.

Congratulations, Dave, on this well-deserved recognition! Your work is a powerful reminder that people with dementia can continue to create and achieve remarkable things.
